Is It Fair or Not? Woman Denied Boarding for Wearing a Bikini

A 21-year-old female passenger reported being denied boarding for her flight after arriving at the gate in a bikini. She claims that despite her attempts to clarify her choice of attire, she was subjected to unfair treatment, which has ignited significant discussion online.

Kine-Chan, a Brazilian model and cosplayer, donned a black bikini, blue wig, and black sandals to portray Rebecca from the anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (2022) at an event. Subsequently, she proceeded to Navegantes Airport in Brazil to board a flight. However, she reported that airline personnel refused her boarding, citing her outfit as ‘inappropriate.’

Kine-Chan recounted the incident on Instagram, where she explained the circumstances and her justification for donning the costume. She stated, ‘An extremely frustrating situation occurred this weekend. I attempted to board at Navegantes Airport while dressed in Rebecca’s cosplay for an event.

Aware that I might be late, I chose to wear the costume to save time and head directly to my accommodation. However, I was instructed to return home and change, as my attire was deemed ‘inappropriate.’

Her post garnered a variety of responses in the comments section. Some users expressed that the outfit was overly revealing for air travel. One follower remarked, ‘Kine, I appreciate you, but you might have opted for something more convenient to wear, such as a wrap dress or a button-down shirt.’
