Ellen DeGeneres has abandoned her £15 million Cotswolds mansion after severe flooding and other setbacks, choosing to move to a nearby hilltop property with better drainage and no flood risk.
She and her wife, Portia de Rossi, bought the original 43-acre estate to escape political tensions in the U.S., but it quickly turned into a nightmare after Storm Bert flooded the area, leaving them stranded. Their vintage Land Rover also struggled to navigate narrow village roads.
The couple has now moved to a modern hilltop mansion with panoramic views, a cinema, gym, and infinity pool. However, the new home sits near the site of a farmhouse with a dark history—a past murder that locals haven’t forgotten.
Despite the costs and complications, Ellen appears content, recently posting cheerful photos and videos from the new property, including shots of Portia and their chickens. Known for her love of real estate, Ellen has reportedly bought and sold over 50 homes throughout her life.
