Donald Trump says America will ‘100% get Greenland’ following JD Vance visit

He admitted that ‘nothing is off the table’ when it comes to possession of the country.

Donald Trump has said that the US will ‘100% get Greenland’ following Vice President JD Vance’s visit.

The US President admitted that ‘nothing is off the table’ when it comes to possession of the country.

President Trump’s interest in the country began during his first term as President.

In a new interview with NBC, the 78-year-old said: “Good possibility that we could do it without military force.”

“You have ships sailed outside Greenland from Russia, from China and from many other places. And we’re not going to allow things to happen that are going to be — that are going to hurt the world or the United States,” he added.

Vice President Vance expressed gratitude to the people of Greenland, saying Denmark has ‘not done a good job’ by them.

“You have underinvested in the people of Greenland, and you have underinvested in the security architecture of this incredible, beautiful landmass filled with incredible people.

“That has to change.”

He continued: “I think that they ultimately will partner with the United States.

“We could make them much more secure.

“We could do a lot more protection.

“And I think they’d fare a lot better economically as well.”

Despite this, the idea of joining the US has not appealed to Greenland.

Their premier, Mute Egede, has said they ‘don’t want to be Americans’.

Denmark’s foreign minister, Lars Lokke Rasmussen, has said that he Trump administration must change its ‘tone’.

“Many accusations and many allegations have been made. And of course we are open to criticism,” said Rasmussen.

“But let me be completely honest: we do not appreciate the tone in which it is being delivered. This is not how you speak to your close allies.

“And I still consider Denmark and the United States to be close allies,” he concluded.
