NEWS Michelle Obama reveals her biggest pet peeve about Barack that left her with a bad impression on their first meeting

Getting a marriage to work can be difficult and Michelle Obama admitted from the get-go there was something about Barack that frustrated her.

Michelle and Barack Obama got married in 1992, but in a recent podcast the former First Lady admitted there was something annoying from her husband she had to learnt to deal with.

No partner is perfect, and it is clear from Michelle that the former POTUS certainly isn’t.

Speaking on her podcast, IMO, Michelle admitted her husband struggled with this one thing throughout their relationship.

She said: “Barack, you know, he had to adjust to what ‘on time’ was for me.”

Joking about his Hawaiian roots, she added: “Because he was on that island time.”

Explaining just how bad it was, she insisted that Barack would start getting ready at the time they were meant to be leaving.

So yeah… not hard to see how this would get under someone’s skin.

She said: “You know, I’ve got this husband who’s like, when it’s time to leave, it’s 3, he’s getting up and going to the bathroom.

“And I was like, dude, dude, a 3 o’clock departure means you’ve done all that, you know? It’s like, don’t start looking for your glasses, you know, at the 3 o’clock departure.”

Thankfully, Barack’s punctuality has proven to be less of an issue in recent memory, according to Michelle.

She added that, over the 30 years of marriage, he has improved and noted that their two daughters, Malia and Sasha, know to arrive early if they are doing anything with her.

I can’t imagine their father is as strict when it comes to meeting him, however.

With that said, Michelle has previously admitted this was one of the things that rubbed her the wrong way when they were early into dating.

In 2018, during an interview, she revealed that when they met at a Chicago law firm in 1989, him being late gave her a bad impression of the future president.

Speaking to ABC News, she said: “I was like, is he trifling? The black man’s going to be late on the first day? I was like, ‘Um,’”

It seemed, Barack didn’t quite master his time keeping even when he was office.

Back in 2014, the Washington Post revealed, through public data postings, revealed that during his time in the White House, Barack was over 35 hours late to his scheduled engagements.
